Io sono convinto che non esista un metodo migliore in assoluto per imparare le lingue e che tecniche differenti funzionano per persone differenti. Una volta che li hai imparati sei a cavallo. Questo dimostra quanto contorta possa arrivare ad essere la mente umana. Ma non tutti cadono in questo tranello.

Escludiamo le domeniche che ho sempre mal di testa. Mi restano circa giorni. Tzzz, solo i perdenti ci mettono cosi tanto!

Remembering the Hanzi: It’s Here

The Chinese version comes in either traditional or simplified format and currently, only book 1, the first characters, is available for purchase. The book is aimed at those who wish to learn how to write Chinese characters and employs the use of short stories or mnemonics for each individual character, in an effort to help the learner remember both the meaning and the written form. So, what to say about Remembering the Hanzi. While there are lists of pinyin in the index, I do not agree with his reasons for not including the pronunciation along with each character. For Japanese it perhaps make sense, not that I know anything about Japanese language, however for Chinese, if you know the pronunciation of a radical, or similar looking characters, it can often help you remember others. Anyway, we all know this, but clearly Heisig has his own ideas. Secondly, a lot of the stories are rubbish.

Whilst learning with this method I am still going to be carrying on learning sentences from books and carrying on with Rosetta Stone although I have been finding my progress in it rather slow recently. Though, I did hunt out the list of all of the Hanzi characters published in his first book to see what I would be trying to overcome. Thanks to John Chinese Quest for helping me find them. Also check out his great post about the Heisig method and its criticisms If you want to download the excel file with all the hanzi, hanyu pinyin, stroke numbers and lesson numbers for the first Heisig book this is the ANKI file for simplified hanzi in excel essentially I include the link here for you.

Remembering the Hanzi Book 1 – Review

It was first published in , with the sixth edition of the book released in There is no attention given to the readings of the kanji as Heisig believes that one should learn the writing and meaning first before moving on to the readings in Volume II. Each kanji and each non-kanji primitive is assigned a unique keyword. The method requires the student to invent their own stories to associate the keyword meaning with the written form.
