Am J Orthod Dentofacial Orthop. Comparison of 5 types of interocclusal recording materials on the accuracy of articulation of digital models.
Electronic address: sunya. However, the accuracy of different interocclusal record materials to articulate digital models has yet to be evaluated. METHODS: A plastic typodont was modified with reference points for interarch measurements and articulated in maximum intercuspal position on a semiadjustable hinge articulator. Motion View Software was used to articulate the digital models by matching points from the models to the digitized interocclusal records.
The distances between corresponding interarch markers were measured and compared with the measurements taken on the physical typodont gold standard. RESULTS: Polyvinyl siloxane materials were significantly more likely to lead to successful articulation than were the other interocclusal record materials.
Using a bite registration to articulate digital models should be considered the first step in the articulation process, with a likely residual need to manipulate the models manually.

Gadal Five cast pairs upper and lower arches were obtained for each patient, in such a way that each tested combination of materials would be represented by a pair of casts with their own standard measurements for evaluation. Intermaxillary record with condensation silicone putty produced the greatest differences compared to manual articulation of the casts. Braz Dent J reckrding The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate and compare the dimensional stability of three types of interocclussal recording materials at various time intervals. Maintenance of vertical dimension of occlusion was always checked by visualization of tripodism obtained by the anterior and posterior occlusal contacts. Square root transformation was done to allow the use of parametric statistical tests. From the combination of materials investigated in this study, the following scale of fidelity can be settled from best to worst recorving Principles, concepts and practice in prosthodontics.
Interocclusal recording materials: A review
Published26 Sep Abstract Background. Addition silicones are popular as dental impression materials and are used in bite registration procedures. This study aimed to compare the postsetting elasticities and other mechanical properties of thirteen addition silicone interocclusal recording materials. Materials and Methods. Thirty specimens of each material were tested. The elasticities and strengths of the materials were measured with a universal testing machine, and computer software was used to determine the E-moduli, ultimate tensile strengths, and ultimate elongations of the specimens.
